Our New Private Resort: Baja Style

Image
We decided to try out a little place we had heard about through the grapevine.  After asking around, we finally got a phone number.  We tried making reservations but were told it would take a few days to get the ranch cleaned up for us.  Ni modo...it was worth the wait! The drive from our place in Bahia Asuncion took about two hours but that included time to change a flat tire.  We did not know what to expect.  We were in for a huge surprise.  Upon arriving and getting unpacked, we were quickly in the pool. Life was good...we relaxed around the pool, did a quick hike around the lush grounds, and enjoyed grilling over the mesquite fired grill. What a great adventure....we will be back very soon....

Following in his Daddy's footsteps

From November fun 2011 I couldn't help but grabbing the camera and video tapping my son, Gabriel, playing tonight.  After playing for a few minutes, he started telling me he was traveling between his house in Bahia Asuncion, BCS, Mexico and his house in San Diego.  Of course, he needed to stay at the Baja Cactus Motel, in El Rosario.  He even went so far as to show me the locations on a make believe map.  My son's imagination is amazing.  It also makes me feel good to know that I am not the only one dreaming about our next trip down to Baja. Until the next adventure....

Another Guy's Trip Report....or not

As fate would have it, my wife did not get the teaching position with Sweetwater Unified School District that we had hoped for....but fortunately she was still employed. As such, she was on a traditional schedule while I enjoyed a year round. Thus, as my fall break approached I had to decide whether to stay in San Diego or venture south to our place in Bahia Asuncion, Baja Sur, Mexico. The next big decision involved if I would travel solo, with one, or two of the kids. I struggled with the decision....that is, I struggled with whether to take one or both of the kids. Life is too short, in my opinion, to leave the kids at home. I ultimately decided that it would be a guys trip and I would only take Gabriel. This would be our third guy's trip in Gabriel's three years of life. Also tagging along was David, friend and coworker. My thoughts are still interwoven and jumbled together...reminding me that I need more alone time. We had a great time and I found myself closer t...
